If you want to understand the meaning of the authentic self-made character in a certain person, browse the life of the martyr former Lebanese President Rafik Hariri, who established for his life just as a Lebanese politician was unable to do so. He deserved his authority, which he utilized to rule with all justice and love, and he did not inherit it or inherit his deeds and money as others did in his homeland.
This simple young man was the son of the southern farmer who works in one of the Lebanese farms. He studied accounting at the university and did not complete it, moving to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, where he worked as a mathematics teacher in the city of Jeddah. Then he worked as an accountant in an engineering company and completed his works until he collected an amount of money and founded his own project which is concerned with contracting. This project generated huge profits for him, and the company became one of the largest companies in the Kingdom during that period which witnessed a great urban expansion.
After successfully employing his potentials in his first project, he took courage and bought the French company Oger which he merged with his own company whose name became "Saudi Oger". This company became among the largest companies in the Arab world, and the circle of its business expanded and included the establishment of insurance and publishing companies and the establishment of banks...
His good biography became one of the best and known biographies in the Kingdom, and he was famous for the people's love and support for him in every step he took. He was granted the Saudi nationality in 1978, and thanks to his special efforts and distinguished deeds, he made a quantum leap in business and became one of the richest men in the world.
He didn’t only win the love of the people around him, but also he won their trust. In fact, the late King Fahd bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, may God have mercy on him, made him his personal envoy to Lebanon in many missions. One of the most important missions was the “Taif Agreement” that ended the civil war in Lebanon with Saudi mediation.
In the early nineties, Abu Bahaa entered the political arena and was appointed Lebanese Prime Minister accompanied by the support of most of the Lebanese people and other political forces. He had no disagreements with any party, rather he was loved and accepted even by the opponents who respected him and made him an icon of salvation for the homeland after his presentations that brought out Lebanon more than once of the devastation and economic collapse. He was the moderate man, the loyal and the defender of the land in the face of any threat knocking on its doors, and he reconstructed Lebanon after the war and improved the Lebanese pound particularly in terms of fixing the exchange rate.
He contributed in the establishment of a large number of social and cultural charitable institutions and works. He was also a support and assistance to most groups of the Arab and Lebanese societies especially on the scientific level where he provided educational opportunities for about 36,000 Lebanese to study at home and abroad. In addition, he established more than 5 educational edifices distributed between schools and universities, including a school in The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Moreover, he offered living aids for the needy people, and supported NGOs and institutions that are concerned with improving the conditions of people under the harsh living conditions.
His impact, which continues to reverberate in the streets of Beirut even after his assassination, made more than two generations visit his grave to acquire the blessings of effort and hard work from it. He also became an ideal for them after his biography had been narrated for them because he was the greatest teacher for those of us who were contemporaries for him and the professor of loyalty to the great homeland.
